Job Description
Education Programme Co-ordinator
Accountable to: Artistic Director
Hours: 28 Per week, Tuesday to Friday
Salary £27,000 pro rata (£21,600 for 28hrs)
2 year contract
Job Summary:
To provide overall co-ordination and development of the Core Arts Education Programme including contract management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To co-ordinate and develop the education programme of Core Arts.
- To co-ordinate the efficient running of all workshops, by being the first point of contact for all tutors. To insure that all the classes run on time and that any absences are covered.
- To Contribute to the planning and delivery of quality provision ensuring the quality standards of all workshops and associated educational projects.
- To evaluate tutor performance by class assessments, yearly evaluations and periodic informal evaluations.
- To support Tutors in the delivery of the programme
- To support the personal development of tutors and ensure appropriate training is undertaken.
- To maintain the Learning Trust contracts and be accountable to other education funding agencies to ensure funding criteria are adhered to at all times.
- To convene and attend Education Programme Team Meetings and departmental meeting as required to discuss ongoing work, and new classes.
- To produce regular reports for internal and external use as required in conjunction with Director and Trustees.
- Support the well being and artistic expression of Centre Members through the Education Programme.
- To Recruit, interview and select teachers and volunteers for the education Programme.
- To co-ordinate timetables.
- Devise and Prepare reports including learner progress, attendance & punctuality, recruitment and achievement/ success, learner feed back.
- To ensure effective communications between tutors and stakeholders are enabled by appropriate sourcing and distribution of project Information
- To support all marketing activities of the Education Programme such as presentation ceremonies, enrolment, Open Days, Adult Learner Week, exhibitions etc as required. This will require some evening work for which time off in lieu can be agreed.
- Liaise with external bodies, as appropriate, in order to create and foster appropriate external relationships for projects.
- To act on own initiative, assessing situations and taking advice where necessary, acting to resolve queries.
- To develop a Community and Youth Education programme.
General duties
- To ensure that all duties are carried out within Core Arts Equal opportunities Policy and procedures
- To ensure that health and safety procedures and regulations are adhered to
- To ensure appropriate steps are taken to secure the building as required
- To work with all staff to ensure the building is accessible and tidy for member use
- To take responsibility for dealing with member situations as arise
- To identify funding opportunities in conjunction with the Director and fundraising team
- To support Core events as appropriate
- To undertake any additional tasks as deemed necessary by the Director
- To ensure that all educational information on display is current and accessible
Education co ordinator advert/ personal spec
Core Arts mental health charity are seeking to appoint an Education Co-ordinator with management skills, to develop our expanding education programme. This is a key role working in partnership with the Artistic Director and the Business Manager.
You will be highly organised, an excellent communicator with previous education management experience. An arts/ music background would be advantageous but not essential.
You should be able to convey information and ideas concisely and accurately,
both orally and in writing, with good organisational skills with the ability to
prioritise and manage and meet deadlines. You should also have knowledge of
the UK higher and further education system.
Requirements:
- A Teaching qualification and proven track record of post- qualification teaching experience gained in the Adult education sector.
- Proven management experience in the education sector.
- Experience of supervising teachers
- Knowledge of UK higher and further education system.
- Proven ability to work individually and as part of a team
- A demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion and its practical application and integration in the work environment
- Experience of using MS Office products/ Macs.
- A specialism in the arts would be beneficial
