Urban Production

Time: Wednesday 10am – 1pm

COURSE OUTLINE
Group session covering the fundamentals of production
These workshops offer learners the opportunity to develop their work by covering these following areas

• Vocal Editing
• Mixing
• Creative Editing
• Sound Placement
• Drum Mapping
• Mixdown
• Mastering

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Educational: learn basic production principles and studio practice as outlined above to enable students to creatively direct their own projects
Artistic: to introduce students to benefits of production and how it can actively shape and polish their recorded work in a number of different ways.
Social: to form and maintain relationships with other artists within the studio environment learning the importance of responding to and working alongside each other

SESSION OUTLINE
Students are encouraged to bring along a piece of their own work that can be worked on during sessions

OUTCOMES
•Increased familiarity with basic Logic operation
• The ability to mix and master recordings
• Skills allowing students to freely manipulate their recorded work expanding their musical spectrum
• Increased social interaction with experience of working within a team

SOME PROGRESSION ROUTES
• To mix work for other artists at Core Arts
• To become a studio recording volunteer/assistant
• To obtain further training/work experience in other studios
