Songwriting              

Venue: Hall
Time: 11am – 1pm every Friday

COURSE OUTLINE
Group session covering various aspects of songwriting including:
• songwriting methods
• song structures
• chord sequences
• melody
• rhythm
• how to write a lyric

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Educational: For participants to be equipped with the knowledge of songwriting techniques.
Artistic: For participants to develop the individual elements of their songs ie the performance; the sound of the arrangement; the words; the melody; the harmony; the rhythm and the tempo.
Social: For participants within the group/band to be able to communicate their ideas within a supportive environment.

SOME PROGRESSION ROUTES
• To record an original EP/album at Core Arts
• To perform new material at various venues and Core events
• To set up a band and do the above
