Music Technology              

Venue: Midi room
Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm every Friday
Tutor: Neale Muldowney

COURSE OUTLINE
1hr sessions, 7hrs per week

Skills Taught:
• MIDI Recording and Editing (parts, tracks, editors & maps)
• Audio recording, importing & Audio Pool

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Educational: to equip learners with an Intermediate-level knowledge of the powerful Logic Program and of a MIDI recording set-up.
Technical: learners will be able to use Logic confidently and competently.
Artistic: for learners to create music which reflects their ideas and interests.
Social: To help and support other musicians within a group in their ideas and creativity, learn how to work and communicate within a studio environment and share artistic knowledge.

SESSION OUTLINE
Teaching will be a combination of demonstration and one-to-one teaching.
1. Part editing
2. Groups & group tracks
3. Audio editing & importing
4. Audio processing
5. Mixing & effects

OUTCOMES
• Members are able to produce good quality demos onto CD
• Creative thinking skills enhanced.
• Social skills developed
• Confidence in creating music and using ICT equipment

SOME PROGRESSION ROUTES
• Further accredited study at a recognised College leading to possible work opportunities
• Volunteering to help other members at Core Arts
