COURSE OUTLINE
Group guitar tuition for intermediates and advanced.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Educational: to further develop the student’s guitar techniques and
music theory.
Artistic: to develop the student’s skills in order to play existing music and create their own chord progressions, songs and solo’s.
Social: to learn and enjoy playing music as a group.

OUTCOMES
• Playing minor, major and dominant seventh chords
• Playing sus 4 and sus 2 chords
• Playing barre chords
• Playing basic fingerpicking patterns
• Develop basic chord construction and rhythmic ability
• Playing different shapes of the minor and major pentatonic scale
• Learning new repertoire

SOME PROGRESSION ROUTES
• Further education college
• Taking part in ‘jam sessions’
• Songwriting, performing and recording
• Learning different guitar styles – Reggae, Folk, Blues, Rock etc
