COURSE OUTLINE
Group guitar tuition for beginners.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Educational: to develop the student’s basic guitar techniques.
Artistic: to develop the student’s skills in order to play existing music and create their own songs.
Social: to learn and enjoy playing music as a group.

OUTCOMES
• Sitting with the guitar
• Tuning the guitar
• Naming the open strings
• Playing basic major and minor open chords
• Playing basic strumming patterns
• Playing the minor and major pentatonic scale
• Learning new repertoire

SOME PROGRESSION ROUTES
• Intermediate guitar group
• Further education college
• Taking part in ‘jam sessions’
• Songwriting, performing and recording
• Learning different guitar styles – Reggae, Folk, Blues, Rock etc
