COURSE OUTLINE
This course covers the basics of using computers, including
• How to create a Word document
• How to format, save and print
• Using the Internet
• Setting up and using a web-based email account
• Simple troubleshooting & good practice

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
This course is for beginners and for those learners who want to refresh their knowledge of computers.
Educational: To develop members’ basic skills in using computers for their own work
Social/personal: to increase confidence and independence in using computers

OUTCOMES
By the end of the course participants will
• Be able to safely use a computer
• Be able to create a Word document from start to finish
• Be able to use Internet & Email
• Have increased confidence in using computers

SOME PROGRESSION ROUTES
• Studying at other computer sessions at Core Arts, including Photoshop
& CLAIT
• Using computers in music technology courses at Core Arts
• Further study/training at a further education
